A bright, modern early learning and child care centre, Canyon Walk School Age Program is conveniently located within its own wing of Steve MacLean Public School, part of the rapidly developing, family-oriented community of Riverside South. The centre serves 50 children from junior kindergarten through grade 5. We provide nutritious morning and afternoon snacks for the children.

Our hours of operation are 7:00 a.m. to 5:45 p.m., Monday to Friday. We are open year round, excluding Statutory Holidays.

At Canyon Walk School Age Program, play is respected as the primary vehicle for early learning. Children use play to model, create, explore, problem solve, interact socially, pretend and dream. Our early childhood educators excite curiosity, stimulate creativity, and encourage the development of problem-solving skills. We provide opportunities to create and expand children's cognitive, language and motor skills, and help every child better understand themselves and the world in which they live.

The curriculum is child-originated and teacher-framed, and the environment reflects the children's interests, learning styles, families and cultures. The children are provided challenges that are carefully aligned to their current level of development, while also focusing on knowledge and skills that are on the upper edge of their abilities.

Children are provided a safe and respectful environment, in which they are free to express themselves in a developmentally appropriate manner, and where they are admired for their individuality.

The children regularly enjoy special visitors to the centre in order to enhance the fun and learning already provided by our qualified and dedicated staff. In addition to daily outings, age-appropriate, well-supervised field trips are offered for extra fun and educational value.

*Monthly Fee: $502.00

* Our fees are blended to include before and after school care, care on PD days, care during March Break and full time care during the summer

Please contact us if you'd like to learn more about our centre. The demand for a space at Canyon Walk is very high, so it's important to place your name on the waiting list as soon as possible.

To place your name on our waiting list (full fee and subsidy), you must register your name on the Centralized Waiting List (managed by Child Care Information on behalf of the City of Ottawa) and identify "Global Child Care Services - Canyon Walk School Age Program" as your child care choice. Directions
Canyon Walk School Age Program is located at 4175-B Spratt Road, attached to Steve MacLean Public School in the community of Riverside South. Drive South on Riverside Drive, which becomes River Road south of Hunt Club Road. Continue driving south and you will pass the community on your left. Turn left onto Earl Armstrong at the set of lights past the shopping plaza, then turn left again onto Spratt Road and into the Riverside South community. Follow Spratt Road until you see Steve MacLean Public School on your right. Turn right onto Goldeneye Way and right again into the parking lot of Canyon Walk School Age Program. The entrance to Canyon Walk faces onto Goldeneye Way.
