The City of Ottawa grants a designated number of parent fee subsidies to our licensed child care programs. The limited number of fee
subsidies means that there is usually (but not always) a waiting list
for subsidized child care. To determine the steps you must undertake
to obtain a subsidy, refer to the
Child Care Subsidies page on the City of Ottawa website.
If you seek subsidized child care in one of Global's Child Care Centres,
your first step is to register with the City's Centralized Waiting List. When a subsidized space at the centre of your choice becomes available,
you will be contacted by that centre and instructed to call the City of Ottawa
child care subsidy department. The City will ask you to submit
paperwork in order to determine your eligibility and if you
are eligible, to determine the amount of your subsidy.
If you seek subsidized home child care for your child, your first step is to register with the City's Centralized Waiting List. Ensure that you indicate "Global Home Child Care" as your child care choice when you are completing the Centralized Waiting List form.
When a subsidy with our Home Child Care program becomes available, you will be contacted and instructed to call the City of Ottawa child care subsidy department. The City will ask you to submit paperwork in order to determine your eligibility and if you are eligible, to determine the amount of your subsidy.
Once you have been offered a subsidy with Global Home Child
Care, your application is assigned to a Home Child Care
Advisor, who will then begin the search for a Global-affiliated
caregiver best suited to your needs.
